A French Celebration in Central Park

A French Celebration in Central Park

The fourth-annual France Run (8K) saw thousands of runners take on nearly five festive miles in Central Park as blue, white, and red brightened a cool, showery morning.

First across the finish line were Harbert Okuti (24:16) of the Westchester Track Club for the men, in his third-straight win in NYRR August races, and Lauren Perkins (28:44) of North Brooklyn Runners for the women.

Inspired by the incredible culture and offerings of France, the family-friendly France Run included the free Rising New York Road Runners at the France Run kids’ races and a post-race festival featuring pastries and other sweet giveaways, opportunities to learn about French culture and language, and a popular raffle of round-trip tickets to Paris on Air France.

Looking for more family fitness fun? Sign up for the Percy Sutton Harlem 5K Run or Walk, and the free Rising New York Road Runners at the Percy Sutton Harlem 5K Run, taking place Saturday, August 25!
