To the 1,165 Runners Who Completed the NYRR Virtual NYC 10K…
The NYRR Virtual NYC 10K gave runners all over the world an opportunity to be part of the United Airlines NYC Half excitement. From Brooklyn to Budapest, 1,165 runners completed the race, using Strava to track their distance and time. To celebrate their accomplishments, we’ve combed through our finisher data and have some special shout-outs to runners who put in work last weekend.
To the seven finishers in NYC’s sister cities—one in Tokyo, one in Budapest, two in Brasilia, and three in London: We loved that you enjoyed exploring your beautiful towns on foot while participants in the United Airlines NYC Half were cruising past some of New York’s most iconic spots, like Grand Central Terminal and Times Square.
To the 17 finishers who celebrated birthdays during the March 14-18 race period—including NYRR Team for Kids’ member Wolfgang Wander: Happy belated! We hope you treated yourselves to some cake after your 6.2 miles.
To the one finisher from Maine: Your dedication inspires us. Aaron, we know you’ll crush your first marathon!
In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, here’s a shout-out to the seven finishers named Patrick, Patricia or Patty.
To the two finishers from Russia: Thanks for braving the cold! You’ve officially convinced us to stop complaining about the 28°F temperature at the start of the United Airlines NYC Half.
To the eight finishers in Houston and one finisher in Ann Arbor: We hope your 10K helped you de-stress after the March 17 Houston v. Michigan game, when Michigan’s buzzer-beating three-pointer led the team to a one-point victory. Hey, they don’t call it March Madness for nothing!
To the one finisher who many know on a first-name basis: Meb, we are so excited to have you on board as an NYRR Team for Kids Ambassador & Special Advisor!
