Warming Up Central Park Before the Big Game

Football jerseys were everywhere as 5,000+ runners kicked off America’s biggest sporting celebration with four miles of running at today’s NYRR Gridiron 4M / Longest Football Throw.

The morning began with the Longest Football Throw before the race, where competitors could test their arm strength before putting their legs to the test—a duathlon of sorts.

Then it was on to the running game, where Senbeto Geneti Guteta of the West Side Runners crossed the line first in the men’s race in 19:15 and Amanda Marino was first on the women’s side in 22:07. Congratulations!

Before they reached the finish line, runners voted with their feet at the race’s halfway point to predict the winner of tonight's game by running either to the left (Eagles) or right (Patriots). With the votes in, the prediction is 60%–40% for a Philadelphia victory.
