Race-Day Essentials: 2018 NYRR Staten Island Half

Race Date: Sunday, October 14
Start Time: Wave 1: 8:00 a.m.; Wave 2: 8:30 a.m.

It’s almost time to take on the last race in the 2018 NYRR Five-Borough Series: the NYRR Staten Island Half. Get familiar with these race-day logistics to ensure that a strong finish is your biggest concern on October 14.

GET YOUR BIB EARLY!
We're expecting about 12,500 runners on race day. Race-day bib pickup will be available at the end of the Staten Island Ferry St. George Terminal bus loading from 6:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. Bag check, located on Richmond Terrace, will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. If you wish to check a bag, please allow additional time for that and for security. All runners will be security screened before entering the start area. Runners must check their bags before entering security screening and the start corrals.

TAKE THE FERRY TO GET TO THE START ON TIME
We strongly recommend public transportation. Staten Island Ferry times recommended for each wave: 

  • Wave 1: 6:00 a.m., 6:30 a.m., 7:00 a.m.

  • Wave 2: 6:30 a.m., 7:00 a.m., 7:30 a.m.

You’ll receive your wave assignment in your confirmation email the week before the race:

  • Wave 1: (corrals AA-F) starts at 8:00 a.m.

  • Wave 2: (corrals G-L) starts at 8:30 a.m.
