It’s that time of year again—Citi Summer Streets is shutting down nearly seven miles of New York City’s streets and opening them up for you to run, walk, bike, and play.

On three consecutive Saturdays—August 5, 12, and 19—between the hours of 7 a.m. and 1 p.m., you’ll have the opportunity to do your thing, whether that’s walk your dog or run with your club, on traffic-free streets from Central Park to the Brooklyn Bridge.

Stop by the New York Road Runners tent, located in the Health and Fitness Zone at the Midtown Rest Stop (East 26th Street between Park Avenue and Madison Ave), and ask our coaches any training-related questions you have, or take part in one of two events we’ll be hosting August 5, 12, and 19:

NYRR Running History Tour @ Citi Summer Streets – 9 a.m.
Starting and finishing at 26th Street and Park Avenue, this out-and-back six-mile running tour will make stops at Big Apple landmarks including Saint Patrick´s Cathedral; Central Park’s Grand Army Plaza, Poet´s Walk, and Bethesda Fountain; and Radio City Music Hall. Visit Eventbrite to register.

NYRR Striders Walk @ Citi Summer Streets – 11 a.m.
Walkers, join us for a summer stroll! NYC Parks will kick off each session with 30-45 minutes of stretching and drills to help attendees develop strength, coordination, and flexibility. New York Road Runners will then lead a 30-45 walk along the shut-down Park Avenue. Visit Eventbrite to register.

We can't wait to see you out there!
