A Feel-Good Four-Miler Kicks Off Thanksgiving Week

A Feel-Good Four-Miler Kicks Off Thanksgiving Week

On Sunday morning, a colorful Central Park welcomed more than 5,600 runners to the Race to Deliver 4M, now in its 24th year on the New York Road Runners race calendar.

The race is a benefit for God’s Love We Deliver, an organization that provides nutritious meals to people in the New York City metropolitan area who are living with severe illness. God’s Love cooks and delivers 1.7 million meals each year to more than 6,800 people who are too sick to shop or cook for themselves.

First across the finish was Jeffrey Weinstein of New York Athletic Club in 20:24. Megan Foster of Williamsburg Track Club was winner on the women’s side in 23:47.

Race to Deliver was part of a jam-packed line-up of weekend running events that also included the NYRR NYC 60K, the NYRR Fred Lebow Cross Country Championships and Rising New York Road Runners at the Fred Lebow Cross Country Championships, an NYRR Central Park Running History Tour, an NYRR Family Running Class, and various NYRR Open Runs across the five-boroughs.

The running fun continues at Jingle Bell Jog on Saturday, December 2. A limited number of spots remain for this festive four-miler that serves as a fundraiser for NYRR’s free youth programs. Sign up today and kick off your holiday season with us in Prospect Park!
